About In 1834, Hezekiah Brink built the first cabin in what became Harrisburg. Later, William Kirkpatrick settled downstream in an area that became Chatham. In 1838, the towns combined to become the Town of Sterling. In 1857, the City was incorporated. Story The City of Sterling is a great place to call home!
