Story Since being founded in 1978, the River Ridge School of Music & Dance has offered music lessons and dance classes to thousands of families in Jefferson Parish and the surrounding cities of Harahan, Metairie, Kenner, River Ridge, and New Orleans. The River Ridge School of Music & Dance is a division of the Louisiana Academy of Performing Arts - the largest private music and dance school in Harahan, Kenner, Metairie, River Ridge, and New Orleans with an active enrollment of over 1,100 students in three locations. Students drive from as far away as the state of Mississippi and the Westbank of Louisiana to take lessons here. We offer music lessons for piano, guitar, bass, voice, drums, mandolin, ukulele, banjo, violin, trumpet, trombone, saxophone, flute, clarinet, composition, preschool music, and more. We offer dance classes in ballet, hip hop, jazz, tap, parent and tot, musical theatre. Benefits of becoming an Academy student: 1. Our music faculty all hold a Bachelor of Music degree or higher and our dance faculty hold either a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree or have equivalent professional experience.
