Story Located in South San Francisco, CA, Spruce Avenue Pet Hospital has been proudly serving the South San Francisco, Daly City, and Colma communities for over 35 years. The practice was opened in 1978 by Dr. Donald Griffin, and in 2014, the reigns were transferred to the new owner and medical director, Dr. Jagbir Kahlon. Sadly, in October of 2012, Dr. Griffin passed away, but left behind countless memories from pet owners and staff of his professional, compassionate care as well as his passion for animals. Although a great deal has changed since our inception, one thing that has remained the same is the philosophy and high level of care that Dr. Griffin established. Spruce Avenue Pet Hospital uses state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment and is known for bringing high quality medicine to pets of California. We also offer high-quality surgical and medical care by combining old-fashioned values like honesty, integrity, compassion, and hard work with cutting-edge technology, equipment, and procedures. In an effort to accommodate more of our busy clients who work during the day, we offer extended hours during the week and on Saturday.
