About Welcome to Gavin's ACE Hardware Story As your local Ace Hardware, Gavin's is a member of the largest retailer-owned hardware cooperative in the industry. Ace Hardware began as a small chain of stores in 1924 and has grown to include more than 4,500 stores in 50 states and more than 70 countries. As part of a cooperative, every Ace Hardware store is independently owned and operated. The Gavin family is proud to be part of the Ace Hardware tradition and serve the local community. Gavins Ace was founded in 1987 by Larry, Rita and Ron Gavin with the acquisition of store #4838 on Cypress Lake Drive. The store was 6,200 square feet with 5,000 sf dedicated to retail sales. In 1991 the Gavins purchased the 28,000 sf Gadddies True Value and moved the business (now store #3443) to its present San Carlos Blvd location. Today we always try to remember our history while focusing on the future as we endeavor to serve our customers. Our goal is to be the best hardware store for each customer that enters our doors. Our goal: we want you to think of us as "The MOST Helpful Hardware Stores on the Planet"!
