About Serving Bardstown since 1806. Mission It shall be the mission of the corporation to respond within the boundaries of its fire protection district, when requested, to emergencies that threaten, or will threaten, life, property, and the environment, but only when sufficient equipment and trained personnel are readily available. The corporation's primary functions include, but are not limited to fire suppression and control, fire prevention and inspections, control and mitigation of hazardous materials incidents to the extent of its level of certification, and the rescue/ recovery of lost, trapped or otherwise incapacitated persons. The corporation may, at its discretion, provide mutual aid in a support role to other fire and emergency services requesting assistance. It is the goal of the corporation to provide its personnel with the safest possible work environment, highest level of personal protective gear, and provide the training opportunities, and supervision that may be outlined in its bylaws and/or operating procedures.
