About:
About A culinary arts and job-readiness training program for at-risk youth Story Harvest Kitchen is program of Farm Fresh RI, a nonprofit organization. We are a culinary job training program for youth ages 16–20 from the Rhode Island Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF)’s Juvenile Corrections Services and those aging out of foster care. Our trainees work to create value-added products and grab-n-go meals using ingredients sourced from local farms, and get hands-on retail experience selling their goods at farmers markets and working in our Café + Corner Store in downtown Pawtucket. Visit us at the corner of Main St and Bayley St in downtown Pawtucket for great food from local farms including fresh produce, staple groceries, grab-n-go meals, and our full line of youth-made products. Mission Can applesauce create new opportunities for RI farmers and at-risk youth? From local orchards to a commercial kitchen in Pawtucket to your dinner table. From the juvenile justice system to employable jobs skills and experience. The Harvest Kitchen is part of Farm Fresh Rhode Island's initiative to increase the variety of value-added local farm products available, and part of the Farm Fresh RI mission to create a community-based food system.
