Story The Marion Fire Department is a Career department located in Marion, Illinois. We provide fire protection, rescue/extrication, hazmat response, and technical rescue from anywhere to 17 square miles. There are approximately 17,413 residents in the city limits of Marion. MABAS 45 Hazmat, and Technical Rescue Team is responsible for approximately 3697.23 square miles. There are approximately 214,646 residents in Southern Il. Our Department is comprised of a full time Fire Chief, 1 full time Assistant Chief, 3 full time Captains, 4 full time Lieutenants, 16 full time firefighters, and 1 part time Clerk. We have 2 ladders, 4 Engines, 1 Brush Truck, 1 Rescue Vehicle, 2 Support Vehicles, 1 Command Vehicle, 1 Mobile Communication Vehicle, 1 Hazmat Trailer, 2 Technical Rescue Trailers, 1 RTV, and Rescue Boat. Mission It shall be the mission of the City of Marion, IL Fire Department to protect the lives and property, both real and personal, of those to which we serve through fire prevention, suppression, and rescue efforts in a professional, courteous, and ethical manner with a commitment to excellence in those efforts.
