About The Newcastle Fire Department is a combination department consisting of 19 paid and 16 volunteer firefighters. Newcastle Fire Department was Est. 1967. Story The Newcastle Fire Department has 3 stations, 2 are manned 24/7, and 1 is unmanned and equipped with additional apparatus. Newcastle Fire Department covers 72 square miles and a population of 9,000 residents that is rapidly growing each year. The Newcastle Fire Department provides fire suppression, emergency medical services, hazardous material response, and public education/fire prevention information. Newcastle Fire Department is an active participant with the McClain County and Canadian County Wildland Firefighting Task Force. Mission Through progressive training, strategic planning, and exemplary service delivery, the Newcastle Fire Department and its members will strive to maintain the commitment of providing protection of life and preservation of property from any and all hazards potentially affecting the citizens residing within and commuting through the city limits of Newcastle.
