About Historic, locally owned theatre in downtown West Liberty, Iowa Story The New Strand Theater is a locally owned historic theatre in downtown West Liberty, Iowa. Our focus is as a family destination. We keep our ticket prices low and our snacks reasonably priced as well. Impressum Monday-Friday doors open at 7pm. Show starts at 7:30 pm. Saturday and Sunday we run a matinee that begins anywhere from 4-5pm depending on the length of the show, and then a feature showing at 7:30 pm. Tickets are first come, first serve. The theatre seats 150 currently.
