About Contemporary Mexican Restaurant Story COCINA|214 is a contemporary Mexican and Tex-Mex restaurant. The name is a combination of the Spanish word for kitchen, "cocina" and the Dallas area code, "214." The idea for COCINA|214 was developed when two Texas natives missed the Tex-Mex and Mexican food they had grown up eating. They wanted the same authentic, fresh and high quality food here in Winter Park. COCINA|214's menu combines bold flavors with the freshest local ingredients to create exceptional Tex-Mex - all served in a vibrant, elegant setting. Since opening last year, COCINA|214 has captured the attention of foodies all over the city. In 2012 COCINA|214 won first place for Best Mexican/Tex-Mex, as well as second place for Best New Restaurant in Orlando Magazine’s Dining Awards. COCINA|214 also received a 2011 Silver Spoon award from Orlando Home and Leisure and the 2011 Orlando Business Journal Readers’ Choice Award for Best Dinner with a Client.
