Story At TurningPoint we hold to the sovereignty of God in all things - including salvation which we believe is through God, by His mercy and according to His good pleasure. As such you'll find that we hold to the teachings that are known as the Doctrines of Grace and the The five sola's of the Protestant Reformation which are the fundamental beliefs the Reformers believed to be the essentials of Christian life and practice. The 5 Sola's of the Reformation are: 1 Sola scriptura ("by Scripture alone") - This means the Bible is the word of God and alone is the final authority in all Christian teaching. (2 Timothy 3:16) 2 Sola fide ("by faith alone") - This is the teaching that salvation is by faith alone and no "good works" of man can add to it. (Ephesians 2:8-9) 3 Sola gratia ("by grace alone") - Is the teaching that salvation comes by divine grace or "unmerited favor" only, not as something merited by the sinner. This means that salvation is an unearned gift from God for Jesus' sake. (Ephesians 2:8-9) 4 Solus Christus or Solo Christo ("Christ alone" or "through Christ alone") - Is the teaching that salvation is through Christ alone. He is the only mediator between God and man. (John 14:6, 1 Timothy 2:5) 5 Soli Deo gloria ("glory to God alone") Is the teaching that all glory is to be due to God alone, since salvation is accomplished solely through His will and action — not only the gift of the all-sufficient atonement of Jesus on the cross but also the gift of faith in that atonement, created in the heart of the believer by the Holy Spirit.
