About Weais and Ali Afzal pioneers of Indian cuisine in Kingston opened Curry Original restaurant in 2001. Story After fifteen years in business at the Curry Village, Weais and Ali Afzal pioneers of Indian cuisine in Kingston left and opened Curry Original restaurant in an old stone - walled space overlooking the waterfront that once housed a local theatre company. Curry Original has since been in existence at this historic location for over 12 years. You can watch the chefs at work through a window frame which comes from 24 Sussex Drive in Ottawa. In the summer time, enjoy your meal on our outside balcony overlooking Lake Ontario. With a combined 40 years of restaurant experience, Ali and Weais will provide you with a memorable luncheon or evening dining experience. Curry Original is fully licensed by the LCBO. Recommendations: Curry Original is the only Indian restaurant in Kingston that has been consistently recommended annually in the 'Where to eat in Canada' dining guide since its opening in 1999.
