About area 61 gallery hosts a diverse collection of works by local craftsmen & professional artists. Re-Opening in the downtown City Center district early 2018 - 730 Chestnut St., The Clemons Bldg. Story Area 61 gallery was established in 2009 in the heart of Chattanooga's revitalizing Southside by wood craftsmen David Crewe and Rudd Montgomery. October 2017, the southside location temporarily closed to prepare to relocate to the revitalized "Golden Gateway" area of the downtown City Center district (Chestnut St. - reopening Jan. 2018). The space offers local artists and craftsmen a year-round gallery to showcase and sell their work between art openings, juried shows and festivals. The gallery features the work of over 30 professional local artists and craftsmen and includes hand-crafted furniture, woodwork vessels and audiophile quality handcrafted SoundCrewe speakers, fine art, sculpture, jewelry, pottery, and more. Monthly "First Friday" events allow collectors and those that appreciate art the opportunity to meet the artists, purchase current work or commission and collaborate on their own unique piece. Mission We believe that art is personal and can bring joy to all. So, we offer a diverse collection of works with a wide range of price points by Chattanooga professional artists for you to choose from. Visit area 61 to curate and satisfy your artistic "happy".
