About Garfield Inquiry-Based Preparatory Academy - A Year-Round, Inquiry-Based & Blended Learning, Public Elementary School Story The vision for Garfield Inquiry-Based Preparatory Academy is to have a clear, guided, consistent focus on high quality year-round instruction. All students will be engaged in a rigorous and relevant interdisciplinary curriculum that is driven by ongoing data analysis. Our environment will welcome strong partnerships between students, families, and community organizations. As a result, student performance levels in reading and math will increase across all subgroups when measured annually by district and state assessments. Mission To teach, model and refine an interactive, learner centered, inquiry-based approach to a rigorous and relevant education guided by Common Core State Standards (CCSS). Technology, multiple intelligences, cooperative learning and strong communication skills will be incorporated into all instruction. Promoting interaction, cooperation and risk-taking between students and the real world will encourage continuous learning for all. Our initiative will spark students’ curiosity, build leadership skills and provide character education so that all students are successful, critical, creative, and productive thinkers.
