About:
About Since 1928, S.K. Lavery Appliance Company has kept the traditional values of honesty, courtesy, great prices and service. When you first walk into S.K. Lavery Appliance Company, you will experience the S.K. Lavery difference. Story Our Story It began in 1928 with one man who emigrated from Scotland to pursue the American dream. Samuel K. Lavery, an electrician by trade, started the S.K. Lavery Appliance Company in an effort to increase his electrical business. In those days it was not a simple process for a homeowner to purchase a range. In many cases Sam would be installing a range for the very first time and maybe even the first light bulb in a customer's home. As more appliances were introduced, the business expanded. Now we sell not only ranges, but also refrigerators, vacuum cleaners, air conditioners, gas grills, washers and dryers, televisions, dishwashers, all major appliances and electronics. In 1961, his sons Samuel Jr. and Robert took over the day-to-day management of the business and continued the Lavery tradition of service and customer satisfaction. The business continued to grow through word of mouth and customer loyalty. Honesty and integrity has kept this family owned business strong over the decades. In 2001, Samuel Jr. and Robert expanded with a second location in North Haven, Connecticut, offering the same high-level of service Lavery customers have come to expect. In November 2013, Samuel and Robert retired and Bruce, the step-son of Robert, took over the operation. Bruce already had extensive experience with all aspects of the business through the years of working with deliveries, sales, and operations management. In August 2014, S. K. Lavery Appliance announced the opening of our new third location in Glastonbury. We attribute our continued growth to our dedication to customer service. "The main difference is our people; we have great people... We treat everyone in the manner we wish to be treated. We're nothing without our customers" - Bruce MacMillian We have some of the largest appliance showrooms in the state. We belong to the New England Appliance and Electronics Group which gives us the same buying power as the big box stores so we can offer very competitive pricing with personal service.
