About FFD is dedicated to using social media for community outreach, problem solving, marketing, fire prevention, and related objectives. Story The Farmington Fire Department operates six stations, with 90 authorized positions for career fire and civillian personnel, protecting an estimated 50-thousand citizens. The city, which covers approximately 30 square miles, presents a number of unique challenges in providing fire suppression, emergency medical services, hazardous materials mitigation, airport rescue fire fighting, wildland urban interface fire fighting, and technical rescue services including swift water rescue.
