About This is the official page of Bayou Cane Fire Protection District. We are located in Houma, LA. Our services include fire suppression; fire prevention inspection, and investigation; EMS; hazardous materials response; and rescue/extrication. Story Bayou Cane Volunteer Fire Department was founded in 1962 and has since grown into a fire protection district that is now staffed by full time, career firefighters. The department responds to approximately 2500 calls of service per year. **PAGE NOT MONITORED 24/7** Mission It is the mission of the bayou cane fire Protection District to preserve life and property and promote public safety as an all risk life safety response provider. We will accomplish this mission through fire suppression, rescue, code enforcement, public education, fire investigation, and professional development training.
