About We proclaim Jesus Christ and promote communities of joy, hope, love, and peace. Story We are a local congregation of the Community of Christ, headquartered in Independence, Missouri. We are located just off Old Walker Springs Road, next door to Walker Springs Park on Kidder Lane in West Knoxville. We were founded in this area in Oak Ridge in the middle 1960’s and moved from Oak Ridge to Knoxville in 2000. Our denominational statements of basic beliefs and of enduring principles can be found at the Community of Christ website: http://cofchrist.org Our local mission is to worship our Heavenly Father through regular worship services, to honor our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ by reaching out to meet the needs of those persons around us, and to allow the Holy Spirit to lead us as we walk the Christian walk.
