About Howard College-Lamesa is a sub-division of the Big Spring College. Offering many basic core classes as Big Spring but right here for your convenience. Story In 1972 Howard College began offering classes in Lamesa, located 45 miles north of Big Spring, at the request of its citizens. A building provided by Dawson County has been used since that time. And then in 1974 Howard County Junior College was renamed Howard College and the mascot name was shortened to Hawks. Mission Working as one, Howard College builds communities through quality, innovative education for lifelong learning.
