About Stones Candy has been owned by Jan and Marg Stachowicz since 1973. So come in and try our own unique recipes that we have developed over the last 40yrs. Story Stones Candy since 1973 History of the candy making Stachowicz family The owners of Stones Candy (Jan and Margaret Stachowicz), have owned the Candy manufacturing business for 44 years now. European candy maker Jan Stachowicz started his candy making back in 1953 at Nestles and worked his way up to one of Nestles top R&D men. The making of sweets was nothing new to Mr. Stachowiz, as the making of pastries and candies go back to over 300yrs with his family in Europe. Back in 1973, Jan was told by his wife Margaret (who was also a worker at Nestles) that a candy shop was up for sale in Oswego NY. That’s all it took for Jan and his wife to retire from Nestles and start their own candy business. When Jan bought the business, he got busy working on the unique recipes that our customers have come to enjoy. When Jan had passed away back in 2002, his wife Margaret and son Don, have been busy keeping the business going and still using the unique recipes that Jan had worked so hard on developing. Jan’s wife and son Don have come up with a few interesting and unique recipes of their own. Many thanks to all of our customers, we will be here for many years to come. Thank you, Margaret & Don
