About UPR is a contemporary wisdom academy offering online degree programs: M.A. Consciousness Studies | M.A. Transformational Psychology | B.A. Liberal Studies Story The University of Philosophical Research is a non-profit, online, contemporary wisdom academy dedicated to providing nationally-accredited degree programs for students wishing to integrate ancient and emergent contemporary wisdom towards self-development and responsible planetary leadership. Degree Programs The University currently offers three degree programs: Master’s, Consciousness Studies Master’s, Transformational Psychology B.A. Liberal Studies Learning Tradition UPR grows from the tradition of great philosophers of history who perceived an intelligible world with progressive, dynamic and emergent properties of consciousness. Our tradition is shaped by such seminal thinkers as Pythagoras, Plato, Socrates, Manly P. Hall, Sri Aurobindo, and Lao Tzu. Towards this end UPR has developed its graduate programs, presented through distance learning curricula by a world-class faculty of gifted teachers, who draw freely upon the entire cultural, spiritual and scientific heritage of humanity with a view towards synthesis and integration. Mission The mission of the University of Philosophical Research is to be an institution of higher education and research in the lineage of the great wisdom schools of the past, dedicated to the pursuit of self-knowledge and its application in all fields of life. University Objectives Assimilation of Knowledge Student assimilation of knowledge in the fields of philosophy, comparative religion, psychology and the cosmology of modern science for self-knowledge, regulation and integration in all walks of life. Acquisition of Values Student acquisition of universal values as necessary for the attainment of cultural harmony and the ability to vitalize these ideas and ideals in solving the personal and collective problems of modern humanity.
