About Victory Baptist Church Rev. E. Benjamin Thomas III - Senior Pastor Story Victory Baptist Church is a purpose-driven church, built upon and instructed by God's eternal purposes (Proverbs 19:21), not tradition, buildings, programs, finances, staff, or anything else. We have centered our church around the Great Commandment (Matthew 22:37-40) and the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) and the purposes of Evangelism, Worship, Fellowship, Discipleship, and Ministry (Acts 2:42-47). We believe that every member of Victory Baptist Church is a minister. Therefore, we will equip people for ministry, help them discover their unique God-given combination of Spiritual gifts (I Corinthians 12); Heart (Matthew 12:34); Abilities (I Corinthians 12:5); Personality (I Corinthians 2:11); and Experiences (Romans 8:28), or what we call S.H.A.P.E. Our ministry teams are designed to reach five groups of people: The Community - occasional attendees and prospective members The Crowd - those who attend Victory Baptist regularly, but are not members The Congregation - those who have become Victory Baptist members The Committed - those maturing through discipleship and service The Core - ministers and leadership We will seek to move people from the Community through the other groups toward the Core. This means we will love people enough to meet them where they are, and love them too much to leave them where they are. Mission Our Mission We believe the experience of real worship and the impact of the message can be just as life changing for the curious unbeliever as for the committed follower of Jesus Christ. Dress casually, bring your friends and family, and hear a message from God's Word that hits home with its spiritual relevance. Our mission is to share the unchanging message of Christ with an ever-changing world. Our Goal We want to help you discover God's purpose for your life and to meet your spiritual, emotional, social and physical needs. We are committed to bringing men and women who do not have a personal relationship with Christ into fellowship with Him and into church membership through equipping believers, enriching persons, evangelizing people and edifying missions. Our Beliefs To summarize, we believe that God is looking for "new" wineskins to fill afresh with His Spirit in these last days. And one of the major obstacles between where His church is now and where we believe His Spirit is moving are the walls we erect between each other and between our obedience and the moving of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, we strive to remove any walls that stand between what we He wants us to be.
