About:
About A safe place for the woman who wants more than recovery from addiction, but to be free from all that may hold her captive. Story WHO WE ARE: Captive Hearts Recovery Services is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation. Our mission is to provide emotional support to those in need of inner healing from the devastating effects of abuse, addiction, and rejection. Captive Hearts Recovery Services offers a faith based, intensive 12-Step residential program lasting from 6 months to 1 year. Residents attend 12-Step meetings each day and attain a sponsor within 30 days to help them work individually on their steps. Much more than a sober living home, we offer Drug & Alcohol Counseling, individual and group counseling with licensed Marriage & Family Therapists and psychoeducational groups. These groups include Boundaries, Seeking Safety, Relapse Prevention, Woman's Journal, Grief Recovery, Breaking Free and Anger Management. Our program works closely with the San Luis Obispo County and Santa Barbara County Courts, Probation Departments and Drug & Alcohol Services. Captive Hearts also offers a sober living Transitional Home to any resident who graduates our program. We work with our clients through each personal and practical step necessary for her to gain stability and move forward with whatever she may like to do with her life. Our team includes volunteers who visit inmates at the San Luis Obispo County Jail on Sunday and Thursday each week. We seek to encourage and assist individuals as well as their families in an effort to bring love and hope to them. Our guidance and community service programs are meeting the physical, emotional, spiritual and court-ordered needs of these individuals. Although Captive Hearts is known for our work with incarcerated women, many of our clients have never been in trouble yet find themselves in a situation where addiction is taking over their lives. We love to work with the broken. We invite any woman who is willing to work toward making the changes necessary to live healthy and productive lives. There is hope!
