About The Winston-Salem Transit Authority is the transportation provider for the city of Winston-Salem, North Carolina Story Serving the residents of Winston-Salem since 1972 as the sole public tranit system, WSTA's goal then and now is to offer safe, reliable and economical transportation services to our passengers. We also have a paratransit service, Trans-AID, which fills the need for public transit services for individuals who have disabilities, and/or who are elderly and unable to use our fixed-route bus system. Mission Our mission is to offer our passengers a safe and comfortable ride, without creating a strain on their budgets. We strive to be a great community partner; working along with the local school system, the medical community, and nonprofit agencies who are interested in enhancing the lives of the population they serve.
