Story The Albanian Islamic center in Harper Woods was the second Albanian Mosque built in the United States and was founded in 1963. The center boasts a distinctive Balkan-style dome and minaret with prayer area, offices, large social hall, classrooms, and kitchen. The mosque serves an old and growing Albanian American Community (already well established for decades) and new Muslim immigrants from Albania, Kosova, Macedonia, and other Balkan countries. The center provides weekend religious instruction in Albanian, English and Arabic with other educational and service programs. The Albanian Islamic center is open to all individuals and strives to encourage peace and harmony amongst it's ethnic Albanians, Islamic followers, and all other individuals. Mission The purpose of this page is to provide another source of information about the Albanian Islamic Center, while raising awareness and strengthening community involvement with the center. **Cultural and religious community events will be posted and maintained regularly**
