About Living Word is a confessional Lutheran congregation observing the Historic Liturgy in Mission Viejo. Story Living Word is a confessional Lutheran congregation observing the Historic Liturgy in Mission Viejo. We are a Church that transcends culture, ethnic, generation, and class barriers and unites all in the saving blood of Christ. Since July of 2011, Living Word has been served by Pastor David Frey. He is a devout student of Scripture who loves to share the timeless truths of the Word in preaching or teaching. He is also a student of history and strives to maintain the rich doctrinal and liturgical heritage of the Lutheran Church as he directs all forward to the Coming of our Lord.
