About STEP Thrift Store and Donation Center (formerly Tried and True) is a non-profit thrift store and donation center operated by STEP. Story In June 2007, STEP entered the Thrift Store business with its Tried & True Thrift Store, located in downtown Wayne. Through this operation, STEP continues to fulfill its mission by providing community employment to over 16 individuals with disabilities. Many individuals with severe disabilities are often not fully involved in their communities. Working within the Thrift Store environment provides these individuals not only with real wages, but also with a true community connection. As a platform to everything from banking, to acting roles in the local theater, to being able to afford Karate lessons, employment at STEP Thrift (formerly Tried & True) has offered its employees the realization of a fuller life.
