About Saint Xavier University Shannon Center is home to Athletics and Campus Recreation. Story SXU’s Shannon Athletic Center is the place to be for athletic and recreational activities on campus. The 85,000-square-foot facility houses a fitness center, two recreational gyms, an indoor running track, racquetball courts, a group exercise/dance studio and meeting rooms. The Shannon Center Main Arena is home to all varsity athletic volleyball and basketball games, as well as graduations, speakers and tournaments. The Shannon Center is free to all SXU students, faculty and staff with appropriate identification. Limited memberships are available for purchase under special conditions. The University Bookstore and The Freshens Smoothie Bar are also located in the Shannon Center and are open to the public.
