About At WESCO we have a dedicated staff that strives for quality & perfection so we can continue to meet the ever changing needs of our customers. Story WESCO Gas & Welding Supply, Inc. (WESCO) started in 1961 in Prichard, Alabama. Five years later Ron Pierce joined the company as a registered Professional Engineer. In 1974 with the support of his family, he bought out his partner and became President and CEO. For the next three decades the company grew from one location to nine providing quality welding supplies, industrial and safety supplies, as well as medical, industrial and specialty gases. Our focus was to give our customers the best service before and after the sale. With this simple philosophy, we expanded our Service & Repair Center to give our customers the “Expect the Best ” service they deserve. Today, all of the Pierce family works in the family business. Jenny McCall is President, Judy Miller is Director of Marketing, Jeff Pierce is Director of Inventory, and Greg Pierce is Shipyard Specialist. Ron Pierce is active in the business, but spends a lot of his time serving on local and national committees in the welding and maritime industry. Our outstanding achievements have not been possible without the support of the entire WESCO Team. Our employees’ dedication has help grow the company into one of the largest independent gas and welding distributorships along the Alabama, Florida, Mississippi, and Louisiana, Gulf Coast.
