Story Media: Everybody's Hometown Voted one of the best places to raise a family, residents proudly call Media "Everybody's Hometown." This is much more than a slogan - it also describes a real state of mind. Visitors to Media comment on our friendly atmosphere. Media is a place where it is customary to say "hello" as we pass each other on the sidewalk. Every visitor is welcome and new residents are accepted when they plant their roots here. Media is the last suburban town in America with a trolley running down the main street. Our brick sidewalks and tree-shaded streets encourage walking. Children can walk to any of three elementary schools in the Borough. The centrally located shopping district hosts a variety of stores, restaurants, and services, while the central location of the library, parks, houses of worship, and theater place them all within walking distance for our residents. We are proud of the active participation of our residents in the Borough's many events and welcome volunteers to help us with the tasks which, when done, make Media "Everybody's Hometown." Media is also the County Seat for Delaware County.
