About Village Super Market, Inc. is a family business operating 30 ShopRite locations in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Maryland. Story In 1937, brothers Nick & Perry Sumas, opened the first Village Super Market in South Orange, NJ. The business, that began as the American dream of two Greek immigrants, remains family owned and operated today.
