About We are an open, affirming, and joyous faith community! Story Spirit of Joy is an awesome and eclectic faith community of about 250 members and friends. We became an ELCA congregation in 1995 and moved into our incredible campus in 2012. In our midst you will find: people with passion for social ministry: in addition to our Children's Free Clinic and Revolve Clothing Exchange, we're active at Rising Hope Food Pantry and provide weekend food for the "food insecure" students at two area schools. We love our Mission Partner congregation, Crossroads Lutheran Church in San Tan Valley. Our women's group just provided mattresses and sheets for the beds at Navajo Evangelical Lutheran Mission at Rock Point. Our youth participate in "Souper Bowl of Caring" each year. Globally, we support ELCA World Hunger and ELCA Disaster Response. We also give 11% of our general offerings to the larger mission of the ELCA.... and those with heads for learning: we are working our way through the Bible at our Sunday Adult Forums, we have a great little Sunday School, we discuss world beliefs and practices on Wednesday afternoons, there are small group studies and Bible studies throughout the week.... and hearts for worship: we have three distinct worship services -- Traditional includes a formal liturgy and hymns, Praise features music heard on Christian radio, and Acoustic is a shorter, quieter worship service on Saturdays.... and lives of prayer: we have a large prayer network uplifting our congregation, families, friends, neighbors, and strangers around the world. Mission God has called us to reach out with joy to nurture all people with the faith, love, and hope of Jesus Christ.
