About Welcome To Laurel Bicycle Center Story Around 1939, Roger Sawtelle began repairing bikes at a small shop in the Chevy Chase neighborhood of Washington, D.C.. In the early 1950's Roger bought the store and during the next few years he worked to bring new levels of quality and excellence to professional bicycle service. Things grew and Roger opened more locations which expanded into the Greens Chevy Chase Bicycle Company. Laurel Bicycle Center first opened its doors in 1982 and has been a part of the community ever since. We have been providing quality bicycles, parts and service for over 30 years. We sell Bicycles by Raleigh and Giant. We service all types of bicycles. Throughout these many years our mission and focus has remained constant; to provide all cyclists, not just the elite riders, with quality merchandise that lasts at a good value with professional and knowledgeable service.
