About The LifeCare Family of Hospitals provides a unique healing environment dedicated to the treatment of medically complex patients. Story LifeCare Hospitals of North Carolina has 50 licensed beds and a medical staff of more than 40 physicians. We are a Medicare certified facility with accreditations by The Joint Commission and College of American Pathologists. Our hospital specializes in the treatment of medically complex patients who require extended hospitalization. We are passionate about giving our patients the best chance at recovery from acute injury or illness by providing early and aggressive intervention in a critical care setting. Our treatment team includes physicians, nurses, pharmacists, nutritionists and therapists across a range of disciplines — physical, speech, occupational, respiratory, recreational and psychological therapy. We believe this transdisciplinary approach helps speed physical, emotional and spiritual recovery. We embrace each of our patients as individuals with a personal history and unique health situation and provide the compassion, support and nurturing necessary to achieve optimal recovery. LifeCare Hospitals of North Carolina has recently earned Quality Respiratory Care Recognition (QRCR) from the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC). This places our facility in an elite set of only 15 percent of hospitals in the United States that have received this award. Each treatment team is directed by a highly-skilled physician and includes experts in areas such as nursing, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, physical therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, case management, nutritional services, recreational therapy, social services and psychological services.
