About Delaware's busiest combination Fire Department. Story The Department is located in New Castle County DE, which is about 10 Miles South of the City of Wilmington.Today the Christiana Fire Company has the tremendous task of providing fire protection and basic life support ambulance service to the residents of our district, which comprises 1/7th of the state’s entire population, within its 38 square miles and provides services to numerous surronding mutal aid departments. Our Fire and Ambulance responses continue to increase, with runs totaling over 12,000 per year. Aprox 3000 Fire Calls and 9000 EMS. Christiana Fire Company, with its highly dedicated and motivated volunteer and career members, has become the busiest Combination Fire Department in the state and one of the busiest Companies within our nation. The department operates 5 Squads, 1 Ladder, and 6 BLS Ambulances. Mission We will provide the highest levels of quality fire suppression, rescue, emergency medical services and public safety education that exceed the expectations of our community.
