Coeur d’Alene is the French name given to the Shee-Schu-Umsh Indians of northern Idaho during the early fur trading days. The French explorers’ name for them describes the “sharp” trading practices they found when dealing with the Shee-Schu-Umsh. Cheryl’s Heart Like an Awl® charm is her original design enterpretation of the French name Coeur d’Alene. Her creation has remained a favorite local jewel for 18+ years.
