About The District Recycling Center currently processes an average of 50 tons per day of mixed recyclable. Story The District Recycling Center is the largest publicly owned and operated facility in the state of Ohio. The district receives recyclables from business and households in Portage and surrounding counties. Mission It is the mission of the Portage County Solid Waste Management District to provide the highest quality; cost effective and integrated waste management services to the residents and commercial/industrial sectors of Portage County.
