Story Torrance Transit System (TTS) began operating in 1940, providing bus service between Torrance and Downtown Los Angeles. Today, Torrance Transit System operates fixed-route service in the South Bay. Buses provide service to Metro's Green Line and Blue Line, and use the Harbor Transitway for service to Downtown Los Angeles. TTS has installed bike racks on all of its buses. Torrance Transit also contracts taxi service for disabled residents of Torrance, as well as taxi service for Torrance seniors. In its efforts to decrease the growing traffic congestion of the South Bay, TTS provides an essential regional service transporting 4 million passengers annually. Mission The mission of Torrance Transit is to provide reliable, safe, inexpensive and courteous transportation to our customers – the people who live, work and do business in the City of Torrance.
