About Saint Paul Cathedral is the mother church of the Diocese of Pittsburgh, the center of spiritual life for some three thousand parishioners and more than 750,000 Catholics in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh. Story St. Paul Cathedral is the Mother Church of the Diocese of Pittsburgh. As the Cathedral, it is Bishop David M. Zubik‘s Church. It is everybody’s parish. It is the site of the local Church’s major events, from priestly ordinations to wedding-anniversary celebrations. Mission The Catholic Community of Saint Paul Cathedral Parish, empowered by the Holy Spirit and nourished by the Eucharist, proclaims, witnesses and shares the Good News of Jesus Christ. The Mother Church of the Diocese of Pittsburgh is uniquely situated in the midst of academic, medical and cultural centers.
