About Anastasia State Park has everything from the beach to camping to nature trails to kayaking and much more. Story Anastasia State Park welcomes all visitors to enjoy over 1600 acres of rich and diverse ecosystems and abundant wildlife. Relax in the shady hammock, kayak in the beautiful salt marsh, or swim in the Atlantic Ocean. Anastasia was acquired in 1949. We have 6 distinct natural communities within our park including the sand dunes, maritime hammock, and estuarine tidal marsh. While visiting, you may see various shore and marsh birds including the rosette spoonbill, great blue heron, and royal terns. You may also glimpse dolphins, lizards, butterflies, gopher tortoise, and raccoons. Some of our more elusive animals may include the Anastasia Island Beach Mouse and nesting sea turtles.
