About Meissner Automotive Story Our History: Meissner Automotive is a family run business since 1962. My Uncle Lew started Lew's Shell in Palo Alto on Middlefield near Colorado. My father Gary took the shop over in 1971 and provided excellent service to his clients. We moved to our new location on 811 East Charleston in 1986, and even though times were tough. My father managed to build relationships based on quality service while keeping in touch with his community. Technologies and cars have changed, many shops have come and gone but Meissner Automotive is still here today. Gary passed away in 2011 leaving his first born and right hand man Kurt in charge to continue the family legacy. Meissner Automotive is and will always be a family business serving Palo Alto by keeping their customers and their cars happy.
