About:
Story Lithia Springs High School is a public high school located on East County Line Road, in Lithia Springs, Georgia, United States. It is also known as Lithia Springs Comprehensive High School. It was the second high school to open in the Douglas County School District.HistoryUntil December 2, 1975, Douglas County had only one high school, Douglas County High School, which opened in the late 1930s. By 1974 the secondary school population had grown to over 3,000 students, far too many for the existing buildings of DCHS to accommodate in a regular school day. Beginning in August 1974, the county had to resort to double sessions. This meant that those students designated to attend Lithia Springs High School would attend the afternoon session, starting at about 11:00 and going until about 5:30. Construction and weather problems delayed the opening of LSHS until December 1975.STEM Magnet AcademyThe STEM Academy is open to all students as of the 2012-2013 school year. It features pathways of electrical engineering, mechatronics, and biomedical science. The classes of 2016 and 2017 will be the original STEM students to graduate from Lithia Springs High School.Demographics Male: 49% Female: 51% Total classroom teachers: 108 Students by grade:
