He earned his bachelors degree in Design Engineering from Brigham Young University and his doctorate from the University of Florida College of Dentistry. He completed his Periodontal Residency at UFCD in 1995. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. Dr. Johnson is an active member in the dental community, including the American Dental Association, American Academy of Periodontology, and Florida Association of Periodontists.
