About Greenacres is one of the most comprehensive and innovative agencies of its kind in Sonoma County serving boys and young men with special needs. Story Each student at Greenacre Homes is offered counseling and a variety of therapeutic groups to support their individual growth. Therapy is a supportive, explorative, interpersonal process designed to encourage communication of conflicts and insight into problems. The focus is to change behavior, work on social and vocational functioning and personal growth. Licensed family therapists assist students through this process and work towards resolving destructive patterns of behavior while learning basic values, building confidence, and managing their lives positively. Additionally, therapists and social workers support families coordinating home visits, resolving family concerns, and strive for family reunification when appropriate.
