About:
About One of Monterey Park's hidden gems is the historical museum at Garvey Ranch Park! This museum consists of lots of late-nineteenth century artifacts and a whole room full of models of all the California Missions. Story This museum originated as the private residence of Richard Garvey, one of the forefathers of Monterey Park. He owned a cattle ranch and had been extremely active throughout the early years of the city's development. Richard Garvey Jr. donated the property to the city and the home was dedicated as a museum and the ranch has been transformed into a public park. Mission The purpose of the museum is to tell the history of Monterey Park and the contribution of the founders of the city. The story of Monterey Park is highly relevant to the local school children learning about early California history, visitors who are learning about the town for the first time, and long-time locals who seek pride in their city origins and faith in its future!
