About Take Root is a nonprofit pay-what-you-can cafe in Kirksville, MO. We serve fresh local foods to everyone. Story The vision for Take Root is to create a more compassionate, thriving, and economically strong community through the medium of sustainable and local food. We value people, the planet, and community over profit. Our philosophy is that everyone, regardless of means, deserves the chance to eat nourishing food while being treated with dignity and respect.
