About Used Books, New Books, Art Gallery, Events. Story Located on 24th at Balmy Alley (between Treat and Harrison) in San Francisco's Mission district. Alley Cat focuses on Used and Remaindered titles but also carries a curated selection of New books with some emphasis on Poetry, Fiction-in-Translation, Philosophy, Spanish-Language, Art and Children's Books. We also have a great big beautiful gallery and events space where we host exhibitions, readings, book clubs and anything else we feel like celebrating. Alley Cat is also the sister store to Dog Eared Books on Valencia St.
