Story About K L Smith Agency,LLC The History of K L Smith Agency LLC K.L. Smith Agency was started in 1953 by Kenneth L. Smith. In 1956 Royden Smith, Ken's brother, purchased the agency. Since then Roy took the agency from a part time business to a full time operation. He increased the number of clients substantially over the years. In 1978 Roy's son Todd started working at the agency. In 1980 his other son Garth came aboard. Todd and Garth now operate the agency on Roy's philosophy: provide our clients with the best insurance products and personal service at the best price. The Owners: TODD R. SMITH, Personal lines — Second generation, 31 years of insurance experience, BA degree in economics from Eastern Connecticut State University, licensed agent for Property/Casualty, Life and Health. Served in the Connecticut Army National Guard for 25 years and retired in October 2003 at the rank of Command Sergeant Major. GARTH C. SMITH, Commercial lines--Second generation, 24 years of insurance experience, BA degree in business administration from Eastern Connecticut State University, licensed agent for Property/Casualty, Life and Health. Customer Support: DRAKE T. SMITH, is the Personal lines Customer Service Representative with 20 years experience, licensed for Property/Casualty.
