Chicago, IL. 60623 Story URBAN ART RETREAT is a non-profit organization that provides safe space to make art and grow as a person. We offer personal growth opportunities, therapeutic art programs, and consciousness raising regarding social justice issues. Original organization founded in 1982. We believe in freedom, non-violence, peace, providing a safe space to make art and support personal growth. Mission Non-violent space for under-represented people to access opportunities and support for personal growth. Products People can learn art-making skills, join a women's support group, volunteer or have an internship, community service hours here, we show & sell art through the gallery, gifts of art available all year long and especially near holidays, children's and outsider art available here, new artists can find career planning supportive sessions here, people can find support for working toward their goals and their own self-improvement.
