About Anthony Dennis, Sheriff Story GOALS: *Reduce the flow of drugs in Sumter County. *Reduce the number of burglaries of residences and businesses within Sumter County. *Reduce the response time of uniformed patrol officers Ensure that every victim of crime is treated with dignity and respect through Victim Assistance Unit. *Clean up our county by aggressively enforcing litter laws and other code violations through our Codes Enforcement Unit *Strive to work with and mentor the youth of our county through School Resource Officers, the Explorer Post, and all staff in an effort to reach out to this population and, in turn, reduce the rate of juvenile crime. *Increase the salaries of deputies so that they are commensurate with others Sheriff's offices of similar size throughout the state. Mission To fairly and justly enforce the laws and ordinances of the State of South Carolina and the County of Sumter while protecting the citizens of Sumter County using fiscally sound management while utilizing the funds and manpower approved by the Sumter County Council.
